In modern dance the body becomes an aesthetic tool to create a powerful piece of visual load tables where the dance music not only reveals the beauty of the movement, but the mechanism of the perfect human body.
Dance is an expressive form that develops a functional body movement. Its features include the use of space and different types of energy, as well as musicality and mastery of the body.
In Saltillo, there are about 30 organized groups or associations, academies practicing modern dance, hip-hop, salsa and various fusions of rhythms. And to make room for fans of contemporary choreography, Coahuilense Institute of Culture is organizing the first Concurso de Danza Moderna "Estilo y Sabor Latino", which will take place on 21 and February 23 at the Teatro de la Ciudad Fernando Soler.
The saltillenses will have the opportunity to assess the proposals of contemporary choreographers, who have assimilated the ballet, martial arts, the dancing, gymnastics, folk dances and other techniques to the lexicon of modern dance.
Juan Jose Martinez, coordinator of dance Icocult, noted that this call, which closes on February 21, responds to the concern of dancers and teachers who wanted a place to prepare for other contests of modern dance.
"The colleagues suggested that a contest in the state to improve its quality and to prepare for national competitions, which take place in cities like Monterrey," the official said.
He added that the contest of hip-hop and salsa had a good response, because so far there have been 10 participants, among them: group "El Circo", the Ballet Choreography Nova Dance, Dance Academy Liza Jazz group "Swan," among others.
"The call is not just for participants, is also for the community saltillense enjoy demonstrations of the various groups in the city.
"The event also has space for display, for those not wishing to compete, but wish to show their dance moves," said Martinez.
The competition has two categories: hip hop and salsa to contestants from 6 to 12 years of age, and hip hop and salsa for participants from 13 years onwards.
The prizes for both categories are: 3 pesos for first place, 2 pesos for the second and third for pesos. The jury, which will be announced the day of the contest will be composed of one judge and two of Monterrey Saltillo
